Overview

Nestled amidst the stunning mountain landscapes of Uganda, at an impressive elevation of 2,000 meters above sea level, lies the Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge. This award-winning lodge, recognized as one of the highest in the country, offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

As you sip on a refreshing sundowner or savor a steaming cup of tea or coffee, you'll be treated to some of the most breathtaking views imaginable. Every guest room and the expansive main lodge offer panoramic vistas of lush, crop-terraced slopes leading to the silhouette of seven magnificent volcanoes. Adorned with specially commissioned artwork from talented Ugandan artists, the main area creates an inviting atmosphere that celebrates local culture.
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is more than just a luxurious retreat;  it’s a conservation project developed in partnership with the Nkuringo community, the African Wildlife Foundation, and the Uganda Safari Company. Our mission is to support the long-term protection of the gorillas, ensuring that these incredible creatures thrive for generations to come. Location

The lodge is located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and can be accessed by flight from Entebbe to Kihihi followed by a 2 hour drive. 

Rooms

The ten stone cottages here are constructed out of the local volcanic stone and comprise of a large sitting room with fireplace, large overstuffed armchairs, and hand-woven carpets. The cottages feature loftlike interiors with high-beamed ceilings and African-themed art and each has its own personal butler.

    Each cottage features a spacious bedroom, lounge area and an en suite bathroom with a shower. A fireplace links the bedroom and lounge ensuring the rooms are kept cosy and warm in the cool evenings, and all of the rooms boast dramatic views of the Virunga Volcanoes beyond.
