Overview

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Dolphin Bay, the sea-facing Ahilya by the Sea is a stylish yet understated family home turned hotel in colonial Portuguese architecture. It is run by the Holkar royal family of Maheshwar. The boutique hotel features nine tastefully decorated and welcoming rooms and two beautiful swimming pools. The wellness centre features a variety of massages and therapies. The hotel is also well known known for its excellent cuisine and its wonderful art collection. 

Location

Ahilya by the Sea is located in Nerul, North Goa – a one hour drive from Goa Airport. 

Rooms

Ahilya by the Sea features 9 tastefully decorated and welcoming rooms that are spread across three independent villas. All rooms are unique and named after paintings by the artist Antonio Xavier Trindade who was the owner's grandfather and have been fitted with quaint antique furniture and traditional Goan artifacts from the owner’s personal collection. Each room has restored vintage furniture. They are ensuite and air-conditioned.

  • Sunset Villa Fakir:

    Located on the first floor of Sunset Villa, Fakir has its own private balcony which overlooks the endless sea on one side and our Sunset plunge pool on the other. Size 15 sqm

  • Sunset Villa Nascente:

    This charming Princesa category room offers a private and spacious sit-out terrace as well as its own step-out balcony overlooking the ocean. Size 17 Sqm

  • Sunset Villa Sanyasi:

    Sanyasi is an ideal room to retire to at the end of a long day. French windows open on to a balcony that stretches the length of this room, bringing in the ocean breeze and setting sun. The room’s private bathroom is across a small corridor. Size 21 Sqm

  • Sunset Villa Florentina:

    Florentina has spacious and light filled interiors accented with stunning laterite arches and large windows looking out over Dolphin Bay. Size 29 sqm

  • Sunrise Villa Minestrel:

    Minestrel’s double height ceiling and lofted children’s niche make this room feel airy and cozy at the same time. Size 17 sqm

  • Sunrise Villa Analia:

    Annalia’s light filled interiors feature a unique barrel vaulted laterite ceiling and generous French windows looking out to sea Size 20 sqm

  • Sunrise Villa Barcos:

    Sunrise Villa Barcos: Barcos, the Portuguese word for ship, was named for the view of local fishing boats one sees through the room’s large French windows. Barcos features high ceilings, east African tribal art, and a private step-out balcony. Size 21 sqm

  • Leela Villa Trinidade suite:

    This is one of the hotels’ largest rooms and the original master bedroom of the house. The suite has sea views throughout and an ocean facing step-out balcony. The Trindade suite includes a private seating area ideal for long chats or curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Size 45 sqm

  • Music room suite:

    The music suite is a large master bedroom and features French doors which open on to a private garden. The suite’s living room is a wonderful place to have your morning coffee, gazing out the laterite arched windows at the sea beyond. Size 45 sqm

  • Arjuns Tree House:

    Arjun’s Tree House is perched on the second floor of the hotels tree tower, nestled away in the branches of a 200 year old banyan tree. The room’s cozy proportions and tree top terrace make it perfect for the solo traveller or a couple’s getaway. Size 10 sqm
