Bumthang literally translated means "beautiful field” and is the spiritual hub of the country. Home to 29 temples and monasteries, it plays host to the beautiful Amankora Bumthang located in the stunning Bumthang Valley and adjacent to the Wandichholing Palace. The Lodge features 16 luxurious suites with a contemporary flavor in four separate blocks, each containing two suites on the ground floor and two on the upper floor. Other facilities at the lodge include a beautiful Spa with 3 treatment rooms and a steam room as well as a Library. The restaurant serves Western and Bhutanese cuisines in a perfect alfresco setting along with interior dining space with a cozy fireplace. 

Location

The nearest airport is Bathpalathang Airport which is a domestic airport and has flight connections to Paro. Bumthang is located 205 kms from Punakha.

Rooms

The 16-Suite Amankora Bumthang features minimalistic design with clean lines and a muted palette. Amenities include king-size beds, traditional wood-burning stoves and banquette window-seats, while bathrooms feature terrazzo-clad bathtubs, twin vanities, a separate shower and toilet. Each suite is centered around a traditional bukhari wood-burning stove and views of the courtyard and palace.

  • Suites

    The lodge comprises of 16 suites in four separate buildings, two suites on the ground floor and two on the upper floor. The Suites are crafted from natural materials and include details that complement and reference Bhutanese culture. Suites enjoy a combined lounge and bedroom with a traditional Bukhari (wood-burning stove). A spacious bathroom is dominated by a large terrazzo-clad bath.
