Location

Birkenhead House is set on beachside cliffs near the seaside town Hermanus, on the Garden Route of South Africa. It is located 110 kms south east from Cape Town, a journey of about 2 hours. 

Rooms

Birkenhead House offers 11 beautifully furnished suites that offer vistas of either Walker Bay or the towering Kleinrivier mountain range. The suites are all equipped with Air conditioning, digital Television, DVD player, Wifi connection and complimentary minibar. Rooms are classified in 3 categories according to their size and views and they are numbered in ascending order back from the ocean.

  • Standard Room

    Experience the refreshing sea breeze filling every corner of these luxurious mountain-facing rooms. They feature a minibar, TV, and an en suite bathroom with both a bath and a shower, tea- and coffee-making facilities, fully stocked mini bars, in-room safes, telephone, TV and international adapters and hairdryers. (Size 40 sq. m).

  • Luxury Room

    These rooms provide breathtaking views of the ocean, elegantly decorated with luxurious furnishings and modern amenities. Some suites include private balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the serene surroundings in privacy. The rooms also feature lavish bathrooms which often come with free-standing bathtubs, walk-in showers, and high-end toiletries. (Size 44 sq. m).

  • Superior Room

    These light and airy spacious rooms offer majestic mountain and sea views. There is a seating area, mini-bar, flat screen TV and air-con. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a mix of contemporary and classic furnishings, providing a luxurious and comfortable atmosphere. The bathrooms are well-appointed, often featuring deluxe fixtures, deep soaking tubs, and separate showers. (Size 39- 48 sq. m).

  • Deluxe Superior Room

    Beautifully designed sea-facing rooms in the front house with generous balconies and dazzling ocean views. The rooms feature a minibar, TV, and an en suite bathroom with both a bath and a shower, tea- and coffee-making facilities, fully stocked mini bars, in-room safes, telephone, TV and international adapters and hairdryers (Size 43 sq. m).
