Blanket Bay is a magnificent lodge featuring unmatched rooms and facilities in New Zealand, set in a stunning lakeside location just forty-five minutes from Queenstown. 
Known for its Pacific Rim cuisine and its awe-inspiring setting, this lodge lies on the shores of South Island's Lake Wakatipu, backed by snow-capped mountains, prehistoric rainforest and small, trout-filled lakes. The hotel has just 12 bedrooms and suites in the main building and several chalets, so the atmosphere is always intimate and relaxed.

Blanket Bay is located in Otago, near Glenorchy, just 45 minutes from Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world. 

Rooms

Accommodation at Blanket Bay is provided in five intimate Lodge Rooms, three generous Lodge Suites, and four superb Chalet Suites. Natural materials are showcased throughout, echoing the Lodge's integration and interaction with the environment. All rooms within the Lodge are placed to take full advantage of the magnificent lake and mountain vistas.

  • Lodge Rooms

    Experience a traditional New Zealand alpine lodge stay in comfort and style. The lodge rooms offer comfort and luxury overlooking Lake Wakatipu and Humbolt mountains. Enjoy the privacy of your own room or explore what the lodge has to offer. You’ll find cosy corners by stone fireplaces, amazing views from your private balcony and fine dining at the award-winning restaurant. The lakeside Lodge rooms each feature their own balcony or terrace, super-king size bed, sitting area and armoire. The ensuite bathrooms are appointed with granite topped double vanities, separate shower and bathtub. (Size 37 sq. m).

  • Lodge Suites

    Relax and unwind in the generous lodge suites that offer comfort, space and luxury set against a beautiful backdr~op of Lake Wakatipu and the Humboldt mountains. Enjoy the privacy of your own room before exploring what the lodge has to offer. You’ll find cosy corners by stone fireplaces, amazing views and fine dining at the award-winning restaurant. The suites feature an additional private balcony, grand stone fireplace, walk-in closets and spacious bathrooms with separate steam shower and bathtub. (Size 65 sq. m).

  • Chalet Suite

    Featuring open stone fireplaces, reclaimed timber and spectacular views. The chalets blend colonial New Zealand architecture with modern lodge comforts. Just a short walk from the main lodge and amenities the Blanket Bay Chalets offer privacy and space in an idyllic setting. The Chalet Suites feature their own fireplace, private courtyard, super king-size bed, sitting area and armoire. The ensuite bathrooms are appointed with granite topped double vanities, separate shower and bathtub. (Size 65 sq. m). 

  • Chalet Stateroom

    Staterooms combine a Chalet Suite with a spacious living room, offering plenty of space for relaxation or entertaining. Featuring open stone fireplaces, reclaimed timber and spectacular views. The chalets blend colonial New Zealand architecture with modern lodge comforts. Just a short walk from the main lodge and amenities the Blanket Bay Chalets offer privacy and space in an idyllic setting. The Staterooms, connecting to the Chalet Suites through adjoining doors, each have their own stone fireplace, separate television and DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities and private courtyard. (Size 130 sq. m).
